Job Summary:

The Accounts Administrator is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the finance and accounting department. They assist in maintaining financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, and performing various accounting tasks. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in financial software and office applications. The successful candidate will need Jersey ‘Entitled Status’ and 1 year’s proven experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

1. Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payments with supporting documents.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and data entry in the accounting system.
4. Prepare and distribute financial reports, statements, and summaries as required.
5. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
6. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.
7. Assist in the preparation and coordination of audit processes.
8. Respond to vendor and client inquiries regarding billing and payment matters.
9. Monitor and reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
10. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
11. Support the Finance Manager or Controller in ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
2. Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role.
3. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
4. Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
6. Proficient in using spreadsheets and office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
7. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Problem-solving abilities and the aptitude to work independently and as part of a team.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time hours | 35 hrs per week

Working days: Monday - Friday | 9am - 5pm
