Job Summary:

The IT Assistant provides technical support and assistance to the IT department and end-users within the organization. They will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring computer systems, performing routine maintenance tasks, and providing basic training to employees. The IT Assistant will ensure the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, timely resolution of technical problems, and efficient support to enhance productivity and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
2. Diagnose and resolve computer hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
3. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and software applications.
4. Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights for various systems and applications.
5. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and backups, to ensure data integrity and system security.
6. Assist in the installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
7. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, both wired and wireless, and assist in resolving network-related problems.
8. Provide basic training to employees on the use of hardware, software applications, and IT policies and procedures.
9. Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets, track license compliance, and assist in procurement processes.
10. Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
11. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and developments in the IT field to provide efficient support and identify opportunities for improvement.
12. Document technical procedures, solutions, and user guides to create a knowledge base for reference and training purposes.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Associates degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
2. Proven work experience in providing technical support or in an IT-related role.
3. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and operating systems.
4. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
5. Familiarity with network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting.
6. Experience in installing and configuring computer systems and software applications.
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with end-users and team members.
9. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

10. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
11. Self-motivated and proactive in learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends.
12. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time hours | 35 hrs per week

Working days: Monday - Friday | 9am - 5pm
